We focus on listening.

In our classes, the students talk far more than the teacher! Our ‘teachers’ are there to facilitate the discussion, be a model student, and ensure that everyone’s needs are being met. That’s why we call them expert scholars. The books are the teachers, and the students are the main stakeholders in the conversation.

Together, we go straight to the source.

​

We will never read a book about an amazing author, we will read the original work! In our experience, students gain far more from reading original works than textbooks. The difference is light and day.

A low minimum time commitment.

​

It is possible to participate in our classes with as little as 3 hours per week. If you want the ICD to be a feature in your educational journey, but not the whole thing, that’s good on our end. If you want the ICD to be front and center, then we would be very happy to have you!

We lighten your load.

​

Once you’ve signed up your young person for a class with us, we will do the rest. All of our teachers are experts in their subject matter, so you don’t have to be responsible for everything you want your child to know.

We have an absolute zero tolerance for bullying.

All of our teachers go through an extensive background check, which is not a legal requirement- we just really care about your young person’s safety.
